Post-production (Avid) Editor

 

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

- A high degree of accountability and an ability to follow detailed instructions

-Willingness and flexibility to learn and try new things, and a drive to be on the leading edge of technology

-Great interpersonal skills with the ability to promote communication and successful working relationships with co-workers, customers and suppliers.

-An ability to work productively when unsupervised

-Completion of a two year diploma program in television production (or equivalent credits) and a minimum of two years experience as a full-time editor

 

Technical requirements are:

-great visual storytelling skills

-solid abilities in media management and post-production workflow

-practical experience with dvd encoding and compressing video files for the internet

-a creative vision and good understanding of design and layout, 2-D and 3-D manipulation skills

-ability to use a variety of audio and video input and output devices, particularly DVCAM and Beta SP

-ability to maintain and trouble shoot a high performance media workstation, understanding of disk setup and striped SCSI media drives

-general IT and computer networking skills, proven ability to upload files to a website or FTP site using FTP, SSH, or GUI-based file transfer software.

 

Preference will be shown to candidates who have proven customer service skills, experience on Avid editing systems and Sony XDCAM equipment. This position starts June 12, 2006. Apply in confidence to:
